Every female vow is stolen away by changes of fortune or evaporates with shifting seasons; a woman’s reliability stands on slippery soles and is weakened by chance accidents; her faith is glibly pledged but executed slackly, hampered by the various allurements of pleasure; always eager to seek out new interests and forget the old, it leaps away breathlessly towards its desire.
