Privacy policy

Plain-language summary of how this site treats visitors.

What we collect

Saidbook has no accounts and does not ask you for personal information. Like any web server, ours records technical data about each request — IP address, time, page requested, browser type — in access logs. We use these logs to keep the site running, to find errors and to block abuse, and we delete them after a short period.

Searches

When you search, your query is sent to our server to produce results. We do not link searches to individuals.

Cookies and tracking

Analytics. We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to count visits and see which pages are read. When you visit, it sets cookies in your browser (their names start with _ga) and sends Google information about your visit, such as the page you viewed, when, your approximate location and the type of device and browser. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy. We do not ask for your consent first. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google’s browser add-on. Apart from these analytics cookies, the site does not set cookies for visitors.

Other third-party scripts. Some pages may also load scripts from other third parties that the site owner has added. They load without asking first. Each of them is subject to its own provider’s privacy policy.

Third parties

Sharing buttons are plain links to X and Facebook; nothing is loaded from them until you click. Fonts are served from our own server. Where analytics is allowed, your browser loads the Google Analytics script from Google’s servers (googletagmanager.com). When you follow a link to Wikiquote or another site, that site’s policy applies.
