Such was that happy garden-state,
While man there walked without a mate.

'Tis all enforced, the fountain and the grot,
While the sweet fields do lie forgot,
Where willing Nature does to all dispense
A wild and fragrant innocence.

I have a garden of my own
But so with roses overgrown,
And lilies, that you would it guess
To be a little wilderness.
