Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedanta and the Vedic view of history should be taught in India's schools as part of the national cultural heritage. If western views of wellbeing, psychology, history and culture can be taught, it is colonialism to exclude the legacy of Bharatiya traditions.

The Hindu mind has a vision of eternity and infinity. It is aware of the vast cycles of creation and destruction that govern the many universes and innumerable creatures within them.

The Vedas define the two fundamental forces in the universe as Prana or life-energy, which we experience mainly through the breath, and Vak, which is speech, articulation or expression overall.

Old India had a high rate of literacy, particularly because of its educational system, its Sanskrit and its gurukulams.

Preface in Ram Swarup (2000)

Prana and Vak are two facets of the same underlying reality. Prana is unmanifest speech, and speech is manifest prana. Prana naturally creates sound, which is the hissing sound of the breath.

Mantras can work to hold and sustain our prana. Prana, [we could say], is the spirit of mantra. Mantra in turn is the expression of prana.
