Sometimes a camera comes out and people freeze up a little, and I'm like that with normal cameras, but with a film camera I feel different. My main aim is just to tell the truth, be natural and believe in what I'm doing, and hopefully that comes across as a rawness.

Fame is not my version of success. For me, it’s being happy and making sure everyone around me is too.

Heroin came into Dublin, and it caught every family. My mother was one of the unlucky ones. She got caught on it, then she passed away.

I always put a smile on her face. But yeah. It would be a surprise. I had no sense of doing acting until the time of 16 or 17, and she was gone by then. She'd be pretty proud.

I was looking for something. I was looking to mess around, to joke. And get paid! But on a deeper level, it was very therapeutic for me. I could be someone else. I think you get to release a few of your problems there through being another person.
