Remarks on social media after the 3-2 victory by Canada's national team in the final game of the Four Nations hockey tournament against the United States. The series took place amid a wave of defensive Canadian nationalism sweeping the country in response to hostile rhetoric, threats of territorial seizure, and punitive economic measures from President Donald Trump and White House officials. Anti-American sentiment ran high on the Canadian side, and included such reactions as booing the U.S. national anthem before games (to which the American fans responded by booing "O Canada"), and several fights between Canadian and American players breaking out on the ice.
