The healing of Tobi (Bernardo Strozzi, 1635 ca.)

More quotes by Tobit

Do not do to anyone what you yourself hate. Do not drink wine to excess or allow drunkenness to become your companion on your journey of life.

If you turn to him with all your heart and soul

Give alms from your possessions, and do not let your eye begrudge the gift when you make it. Do not turn your face away from anyone who is poor, and the face of God will not be turned away from you.

For he both punishes and forgives
