Whoever has known the love of God, loves the whole world and never complains, because the passing pain because of God produces eternal joy.

— Silouan the Athonite

Chiunque ha conosciuto l'amore di Dio, ama tutto il mondo e non si lamenta mai, perché il dolore passeggero a causa di Dio produce eterna gioia.

More quotes by Silouan the Athonite

Prayer made only out of habit, without a contrite heart for the sins committed, is not pleasing to God.

The Lord does not want the soul to be in discouragement and doubt about its salvation at all.

If one did not think of God one would not even pray.

Through prayer, man is preserved from sin because the praying mind is intent on God and in a humble spirit stands before the face of the Lord, known only by the praying soul.

God makes himself known only in the Holy Spirit, and he who because of his pride attempts to know the Creator with his mind alone is blind and deaf.
