Shinji: The world of human beings is protected by Kami, your ancestors, and humanity as Kami has repeatedly said.

If human beings did not exist, it would not be possible to live in this world. | And if ancestors did not exist, the descendants of human beings would not be born into this world. | Kami gives human beings a soul. | Your ancestors give human beings a body. | Human beings live in the world to help one another. | pp. 45-6
