Margaret Thatcher died. It is not very Christian to rejoice at this news. Certainly I am not a good Christian.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Lady Thatcher and the people of the UK during this difficult time.

Our sincere gratitude was demonstrated in 1983 when she was granted the Freedom of the Falkland Islands. Her friendship and support will be sorely missed.

She was a transformative figure under whom the United Kingdom registered important progress on the national and international arena.

Baroness Thatcher will be remembered as the British Prime Minister whose signature appears on the Sino-British Joint Declaration signed in Beijing in December 1984.

How should we honour her? Let's privatise her funeral. Put it out to competitive tender and accept the cheapest bid. It's what she would have wanted.
