Random Thomas Sprat quote

2 quotes

Poetry, the queen of arts.

'Tis true, great name, thou art secure
From the forgetfulness and rage
Of death, or envy, or devouring age.
Thou canst the force of teeth and time endure;
Thy fame, like men, the older it doth grow,
Will of itself turn whiter too,
Without what needless art can do.
