My last lap was a bit disappointing, but I'm really happy because it is a long (time) since India won a long-distance medal.

I honestly didn’t think I would win today because this was my first competition of the season, It has been very tough training during the Covid-19 pandemic period and I just wanted to come here and try to get a good performance. I managed a win and I am so happy with myself.

I know the guy who was following me (silver medallist Avinash Sable of India) and I know he is not that fast. I was not afraid of him so that is why I controlled the race at the front.
